According to the latest reports, Canadian Green Party leader Elizabeth May says she is getting “increasingly nervous” over Trump’s comments about taking over Canada.

She said jokes about Canada are not funny and said she wants people to be serious. May put it this way, “I have to say that to the extent that this 51st state thing was a joke, it’s not funny. I find that pursuing it on social media makes me increasingly nervous.”

This comes after Donald Trump managed to get under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s skin with a joke about Canada earlier this month. Trump reportedly told Justin Trudeau that if his tariffs destroyed Canada, the country should become the 51st state and Trudeau could be governor.

Fox News put it this way, “We’re getting some new details about that Trump-Trudeau dinner from two people who were at the table.”

What’s Next On Donald Trump’s Agenda?

Of course, the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter. Some even commented with, “Canada can’t take a joke? I mean, clearly Canada wouldn’t be the 51st state. It would be broken up by provinces, those becoming the 51st-61st states. Toss in Greenland for #62.”

Another critic wrote, “You wouldn’t have to worry about the exchange rate any more, so there’s that. But I’m not sure we want the frenchy canucks unless they all agree to move to Louisiana to be near their cajun brethren. We got a french fried gator.”

So far Donald Trump himself has not made any additional comments about the matter.
