Talk about a controversial subject. A lot of royal fans and critics are debating whether or not Queen Elizabeth was a good monarch, or even a good mother for that matter.
Did Queen Elizabeth Handle the Epstein Controversy Properly?
And that’s mostly because of the way that she managed the fallout from Prince Andrew’s Jeffrey Epstein scandal. In other words, she ignored it completely.
It wasn’t until this past month that King Charles finally pulled the plug on his little brother by stripping him from his royal title and evicting him from The Royal Lodge.
But here’s the thing: a lot of people can’t help but wonder why didn’t this happen much earlier and why Queen Elizabeth herself didn’t do anything about it? It just seemed like she was trying to protect her son more than anything else.
It goes without saying that royalists certainly did have a lot to say about the topic on social media.
Some even commented with, “As a good monarch, aren’t you supposed to raise good heirs? She put duty above everything else but at what cost? Her heirs are bringing the house of cards down (good riddance).”
What’s Next For Prince Andrew?
“Also, former colonies do not care about the monarchy, the royals and Elizabeth. Those days are long gone just like the presence of the UK in former Commonwealth countries are long except a few which I think they will leave by the time William takes the throne.”
Another critic wrote, “I think the rose tinted glass is coming off of Elizabeth now.”
“When she was alive, you wouldn’t dare say anything negative about her but her death opened so many eyes, especially the monarchy/royals and some of the royal lovers, how much people celebrated her death.”
And then there was this comment as well: “I think she sucked equally as a monarch and as a mother. As the monarch with the uterus, it was her job to birth and raise heirs that would guarantee the place of the monarchy in society.”
“She failed spectacularly. I also think the only reason the institution still stands is some nostalgia and the general chaos of the world.”
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter, although at this point it’s doubtful that anything will be said. Watch this space for more.
