Kirsten Storms Returns To Work On The General Hospital Set

General Hospital (GH) star Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) has been away from the show due to a move to Tennessee and health problems. But to the delight of ABC soap fans, she is back at work. Read on for more details.

In November, Kirsten moved away from Los Angeles to Nashville because life is less stressful there. Plus, she told her followers that she’d been scheduled for brain surgery for an aneurysm. Doctors found it during a scan after the removal of a cyst in 2021.

Of course, fans knew that she was unwell, and General Hospital had her in a coma to explain her absence. Naturally, she wanted time to prepare for surgery and went silent on Instagram for a while. However, she returned and explained that so many rumors about her health made her feel like avoiding social media.

Many fans hoped that one day soon, Maxie Jones would reappear on the daytime soap. Prayers and best wishes went in for her when she unlocked her comments. And this week, Kirsten Storms dished the news that everyone waited for.

Maxie Is Back!

On Instagram on Wednesday night, Kirsten shared a photo of herself and tagged General Hospital. Some cards in the photo suggested that other cast members showed her how much they appreciate her.

In her caption, Kirsten told her GH followers:

Boom. 2026 already…that was fast. Back at work! Seriously missing my BugBug though. California doesn’t feel right without her here. @generalhospitalabc #gh.

Fans React With Joy

Naturally, her many fans wanted to say something, and the comments started arriving super-fast despite it being quite late at night. One of them told the actress, “So happy that you’re feeling well enough to return. You have been missed!!!”

Probaly,  Gary Fuller (James West) will be pleased to see Kirsten back on the set. Back in early November, when Maxie was in a coma, they filled in the time behind the scenes and she taught him how to crochet. When she moved to Nashville, he shared that he missed her already.
