Steve Burton’s New Wife Shares Final Photos Of Jason Morgan On Set

General Hospital fan fave Steve Burton shared sad news with fans this week and revealed he was leaving the ABC soap opera (again) and Jason Morgan would be exiting Port Charles. 

The actor reassured fans that his exit wasn’t permanent, and teased Jason might be back on the soap opera this summer.  Here’s what we know so far, keep reading for all the details!

Steve Burton Announces General Hospital Exit

On Tuesday February 10, the popular GH star took to social media and made an unexpected announcement.  Steve wrote, “Hey everyone, I wanted to share that I’ll be taking a short break from General Hospital.  I’m newly married and looking forward to spending some quality time with my family.  I’m grateful for all the support and will be back this summer.  Much luv -sb.”

Steve Burton has been in and out of the Port Charles revolving door since 2021 when there were issues with COVID vaccine mandates on the soap set.  But, he has been playing a pivotal role in storylines for two years now, the soap will definitely have some airtime to fill without Jason Morgan around.

Steve’s New Wife Shares Photos From General Hospital Set

Less than a year ago Steve married his new wife Michelle Lundstrom.  So, it makes sense that he wants to take some time off from work for some newlywed activities. 

After Burton announced his upcoming soap exit, his wife took to social media and shared some photos of him getting his make-up done on the ABC set.

Lundstrom praised her hubby and wrote, “Just over here admiring my incredibly talented husband @1steveburton Watching you shine on set and in life makes my heart so happy. I’m so proud of you, and so grateful I get to be by your side through every season of this beautiful life.”

It’s not clear when Steve’s final air date will be or how the writers will write him out.  Rumors are hinting Jason Morgan’s exit will be linked to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) rescue.  Are you sad to see him leave town?
