General Hospital Steve Burton Teases Jason’s Summer Return – Reveals Timeline Details

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that Steve Burton recently provided an update for fans on Jason Morgan’s summer return by offering a timeline of when viewers can expect to see him back on the canvas. When will “Stone Cold” make his splashing comeback to Port Charles? Let’s talk about it!

Jason Morgan’s Current Predicament

General Hospital spoilers remind fans that Jason is somewhere in Jakarta, Indonesia – this, according to Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) – in WSB custody.

Jason confessed to shooting WSB Director, Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), even though he wasn’t the one to pull the trigger, and Rocco Falconerni (Finn Carr) was.

Jason immediately went into protective mode for the young boy, as he didn’t want the teenager to face any repercussions for shooting the WSB bigwig.

After spending time at the PCPD, Jason was immediately hauled off by the super spy agency to parts unknown to await trial.

Anyone linked to the WSB, from Brennan to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), and even Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), seems to be under the impression that Jason will never step foot in Port Charles again or be seen by his loved ones. With that said, Jason has defied the odds before, and he likely will again.

Steve Burton’s “Short Break”

General Hospital viewers know that Jason will somehow make his way back to the little town. After all, the storyline was developed to allow for Burton’s ‘short break’ from canvas.

The actor announced his hiatus from the ABC soap this past February via his Instagram. When he spilled the news that Jason was exiting storylines, he also reassured fans that he’d be returning sometime in the summer.

Burton further confirmed this on the latest “That’s Awesome” show, a podcast he hosts along with GH co-star Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli).

At one point in the podcast, Burton told Anderson that the questions he gets asked the most by GH viewers are, “If I’m coming back … when I’m coming back,” to which Anderson replies, “That’s right!” Burton then confirmed he was returning, and he’s “… starting in June.”

As General Hospital shoots about four to six weeks ahead of airing, if Burton begins filming in June, fans should expect to see him back in storylines sometime in July, possibly early August.
