The Young and the Restless spoilers and updates suggest that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) may initiate a surprising plot. Currently, Phyllis is dealing with legal issues, but she might eventually focus on a new storyline.

Phyllis And Sharon Formed A Bond While Held Captive Together

Y&R fans are aware that Phyllis and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) formed a bond while they were trapped as Martin Laurent’s (Christopher Cousins) lab rats.

It was a terrible situation, but Sharon and Phyllis connected because they were both victims of a cruel villain. This is why, despite any resurfacing problems, Phyllis still empathizes with the need to escape from a monster.

Sharon is still not free from Matt Clark (Roger Howarth), who is returning to Genoa City, so could Phyllis step in to assist her with him?

Naturally, Phyllis will eventually learn about Matt nearly endangering Sharon, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Noah Newman (Lucas Adams), and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) at that gas station.

Matt Could Have Harmed Nick, Or Worse, With That Bad Batch Of Fentanyl

Additionally, Matt could have harmed Nick with that dangerous batch of fentanyl. Nick’s actions will worry Phyllis in the May 7 episode, which might lead her to learn about his drug issues and treatment.

Phyllis clearly has some conflicts with the Newman family at the moment, but she will always care for Nick and his well-being.

Nick is the father of Phyllis’ daughter, Summer Newman (most recently portrayed by Allison Lanier), which will always connect them.

Even though Matt suffers from amnesia, there will likely be skepticism about his memory loss when he comes back to GC.

Phyllis Is Still Struggling Inside Over That Whole Martin Situation

Phyllis has never fully dealt with her inner struggles regarding the entire Martin situation, so what if she chooses to help take Matt down?

Could this lead to a resolution of Phyllis’ ongoing conflict with the Newmans and a potential agreement like the one Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) has been suggesting?

Of course, the most logical outcome would be for Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to eliminate Matt as he should have done initially.

Nevertheless, Y&R will surely find a way to keep Matt alive and involved in the storyline. The show tends to complicate matters unnecessarily when it comes to Matt, as they seem intent on keeping him around for as long as they can.

What If Phyllis Tries To Seduce Matt To See if His Amnesia Is Real?

What if Phyllis tries to seduce Matt to see if his memory loss is real-she might create fake sparks to catch him lying and get his confession-or, she could plan something darker!

This is also a chance to revisit the chemistry between Michelle Stafford and Roger Howarth, who played Nina and Franco on General Hospital. Phyllis felt powerless against Martin and doesn’t want Sharon to feel the same with Matt.

This could be her chance to outsmart Matt, but things might go wrong if she starts to have real feelings for him while he’s forgetful.  Of course, things could get much more dangerous if his memory comes back-if his amnesia is even real at all!
