Dancing With The Stars Casts Jackson Olson, And What The Hell Is A Savannah Banana

Dancing With The Stars fans are currently counting down the days until the Season 35 premiere of the dance competition this Fall. 

ABC has begun slowly rolling out the new cast and this week they unveiled another celeb dancer.  Social media star and Savannah Banana player Jackson Olson announced on social media that he will be competing for the 2026 Mirror Ball Trophy.  Keep reading for all the details, and to find out what a Savannah Banana is!  

Jackson Olson Shares Exciting Dancing With The Stars News

Jackson Olson shared a cryptic TikTok video over the weekend and teased that he had big news to share with his followers. 

The internet celeb captioned the video, “Don’t Worry guys i Will tell you Soon.”  His followers quickly noticed that he had capitalized “D,W,T, and S,” and predicted that he had joined the cast of ABC’s dance competition.

Then on May 12, the official Instagram page for the show shared a post confirming the news.  ABC teased, “This banana is hitting the ballroom! 🍌🕺 Catch @jacksonolson_ on the new season of #DWTS, this fall on ABC, Disney+, and Hulu.” 

The Savannah Banana Takes The Dancing With The Stars Stage

Legions of devoted Savannah Banana fans flooded social media with their excitement about the casting news.  The rest of us took to Google to find out what exactly a Savannah Banana is. 

It turns out it’s a baseball team in Georgia that plays by their own rules and incorporates Broadway songs and TikTok dances in to their innings. 

Yes, it’s really a thing.  The Savannah Bananas are basically the Harlem Globetrotters of baseball and apparently Jackson Olson is a fan fave,

Considering his experience and the fact that he can do a choreographed homerun, Jackson Olson will definitely be a star to watch next season. 

So far there are two other celebs confirmed to be competing against Olson in Season 35, reality TV stars Ciara Miller and Maura Higgins.
