Yellowstone spinoffn Dutton Ranch seems likely to be more popular with fans than Marshals, and the direct sequel recently arrived with news that made some fans scoff. Others joked, and yet more wonder about the truthfulness of Cole Hauser, (Rip Wheeler). Read on for more about it.

The News By Hauser

A few days ago, AOL carried a story about Hauser chatting on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Well, it seems that his claim about rattlesnakes rattled some folks and hit the disbelief note with others.

He claimed that while filming in North Texas, the crew discovered snakes. Thousands of them.

In fact, he specifically claimed that “3,400 rattlesnakes” were discovered during the eight-month shoot.

Notably, he wasn’t alone because co-star Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton) added the fact that about six folks who professionally handle reptiles caught and then relocated them.

While it adds to the drama of filming Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler in Texas sequences, the release, numbers, and more came under close scrutiny from many folks.

The News On Social media

Most Yellowstone fans were too polite to actually call them out as telling tall stories. But plenty of comments suggested they thought it seems far-fetched.

Meanwhile, others vowed to stay away from the filming set of Dutton Ranch for the rest of their lives.

The comments arrived when @DallasTexasTV shared about it on Instagram. In a post, the caption reflected the news from the podcast:

Cole Hauser says crews caught 3,400 rattlesnakes over eight months filming the Yellowstone spinoff “Dutton Ranch” across North Texas

It also said, “Up to six wranglers worked the set, and one location had 40 to 50 snakes in a single spot before they got cleared out and relocated.”

Fans React

One reader raised a virtual eyebrow, saying, “I actually live in the area where they filmed 😂 and I go hiking and yet I’ve seen maybe three Rattlers out of 27 years rattlers don’t make it very long here they are prey for bigger game.”

But others were not so sure that there was an exaggeration, Another follower penned this:

ONLY 3400??…. We had a ranch in Brownwood with 30+ manmade tanks created by TNT detonation. The shale rock on the banks of each pond was rattlesnake heaven. Every year they’d have a guy come up and extract em and take em straight to roundup.

But of course, the quips and sallies entertained the rest of the Yellowstone fans in the comments. Here are a few of those:

  • “Cleared out and relocated”. 🤣 Relocated to the next life maybe.
  • Local rattlesnakes have reported mass kidnappings.
  • Anyways… Who wants to rent a Yacht in Dallas?
  • Okay I was gonna get worried if it was 3,401 rattlesnakes. Thank god.

The show premiered on May 15 on Paramount+ and the Paramount Network. And it runs through to July 3. If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to keep an eye out for those rattlers in North Texas.
