Prince Harry is rethinking his UK trip next month. He wanted to bring Meghan Markle and the kids, Archie and Lilibet. Then he got the news about security.
They won’t receive taxpayer-funded armed police protection outside royal estates. Per the BBC. That changed things.
The Planning Set For Invictus
The family planned to visit together for the first time in four years. The trip was set around the Invictus Games countdown in Birmingham.
Let’s shout out royal expert Neil Sean who called it already, before the Mail on Sunday broke the news.
Reports suggest Prince Harry is deeply upset about the decision. – (InStyle.) Now he’s weighing whether they can actually visit safely.
The news has stalled hopes for a smooth royal reunion. It also raises fresh doubts about whether Meghan and the children will travel at all.
The TalkTV Debate
Mark Dolan brought it up on TalkTV on YouTube on Sunday. He spoke with political strategist Peter Barnes and several callers.

Dolan pointed to a “shocking headline on the front page of the Mail on Sunday.” He noted the “dismay for the king.”
The reason? Harry might leave his family behind. That means King Charles won’t meet his grandchildren. He hasn’t seen either child in person since 2022.
Another Perspective
A correspondent caller, Greg from Bristol, shared his take. He watched the Netflix documentary and felt Harry wasn’t given “a reasonable choice.”
Greg brought up the “elephant in the room.” He asked a pointed question. How can a king “marry his mistress and make her queen Camilla?”
He noted she was “the third person in the relationship all the way through the ’90s.”
Dolan agreed. He called it an outrageous scandal at the time. A miserable experience for Diana. She famously told Panorama that there were “three people in her marriage.”
Greg explained the heavy mental and physical toll an affair takes on a family.
He pointed out that Charles is now the head of the church. Because of that, Greg suggested the King has no place to take the “moral high ground.”
Diana’s Memory
Greg also noted that Harry and William have been stoic about their mother. He feels Princess Diana is being ignored and “pushed under the carpet.”
It upsets him and his wife. Nobody speaks about her enough.
Dolan agreed that no one talks up for Diana. Or defends what she went through. He suggested that she married for love while Charles loved Camilla.
Dolan called the whole situation a tragedy. He reminded viewers that Charles was a very unpopular and divisive figure.
That lasted for at least a decade before he “rehabilitated” himself.
A Different View
Peter Barnes saw it differently. He argued the security apparatus and multiple courts decided the threat doesn’t justify armed security.
Barnes thinks Harry is “throwing his toys out of the pram at the last minute.” He said the entitlement is very stark.
Barnes believes Prince Harry is playing with the monarchy. Why? Because “he’s not getting enough attention.”
He warned that the House of Windsor is “clinging on by the skin of its teeth.”
Losing the institution, he suggested, could chip away at the nation’s identity.
Frustration from East Sussex
Another caller, Adrian from East Sussex, expressed intense frustration. He doesn’t want to pay for Harry’s security.
In fact, he wants the whole royal family gone off his bill. Adrian argued the king failed to defend the faith.
He claimed the king “lied on his wedding vows” and “had affairs.”
Deep Divisions
The debate shows the deep rifts that remain. The public is still divided over royal privileges. Past scandals continue to linger. And the future of the monarchy itself? That remains an open question.
