Prince Harry is heading into a rough week. That’s the view of one commentator who’s been watching the royal’s legal battles closely. The former royal, now living in California, spent years taking on the British tabloids. But this week, it seems, the bill may be coming due.
The Lawyer Always Wins
Neil Sean said as much on his Daily News Headlines vlog on YouTube on Monday night.
Sean, a longtime showbiz journalist, has followed Harry’s feud with the press from the start. He isn’t impressed with how it has played out.

“The only real true winner in the end is the lawyer,” Sean said. He’s seen this before. Fights over songs, copyrights, and celebrity spats. They all end the same way.
Both sides pay a fortune. Reputations get trashed. Friendships get ruined. And the lawyers walk away smiling.
Sean thinks Harry has been badly advised. He claims the Duke has been told he can win. That he is owed this. That he should fight.
“This is truly what I believe has happened to Prince Harry,” Sean said.
Why William Did It Differently
The comparison with Prince William is telling, according to Sean. William and Catherine have had their own problems with the press.
Remember those photos? The phone hacking case and the settlement? It was reported by Sky News among other major outlets. But they took the money and moved on.
Sean said it isn’t about giving in. “It’s about actually knowing what your value is worth.”
Harry went the other way. His whole life now seems to be about keeping legal battles alive. The case against Associated News, publisher of the Daily Mail, is the big one.
Sean believes the case is not looking good for Harry.
The Memory Problem
According to Sean, this was the problem. Harry couldn’t remember certain details when questioned. Sean said the Duke was asked about his knowledge of certain journalists.
Sean argued that the newspaper group had completely refuted Harry’s claims. That’s a killer in a court case.
Sean pointed to a recent hearing. Something about theatre and cinema cuddles, and the journalist he inferred he never said anything to.
The royal expert called that moment “the final nail in the coffin.” In Sean’s view, it was a damaging moment for Harry’s case.
Terrible Timing
The timing is awful. Prince Harry is trying to push positivity. The Invictus Games. A return to the UK. Seeing the King. Meeting his children.
All of that gets overshadowed by this mess.
“There is no love lost,” Sean said, talking about the relationship between the Sussexes and the tabloids. That’s an understatement.
Meghan Markle won a previous case against the Daily Mail. It was about her father’s letter. The payout was small. The bitterness remained.
The Cost of Fighting
Now the costs are mounting. Sean said the Sussexes will have to find a lot of money. Even if Prince Harry wins, he may not get all his legal fees covered.
It’s a big case. Big cases cost big money.
“Harry decided he was a winner,” Sean said. That decision may haunt him.
The visa issue is still there too. Sean doesn’t think Trump will do anything about it. He said the President “wouldn’t want to offend the king.”
But the questions around Harry’s US status haven’t gone away.
What Happens Next
This week might be some sort of D-Day for Harry. Maybe by Wednesday or Thursday. The outcome isn’t certain. But Sean is clear on one thing. It won’t be pretty.
