‘Boston Blue’ Season 2 Reunion Bombshell – Another Reagan Is Heading To Boston!

‘Boston Blue’ is heading into its second season, and already there’s a number of surprises in store for fans. While we can’t confirm a number of them right now, we can at least confirm that this new season plans to reunite two old foxes for a thrilling run.

‘Blue Bloods’ Alum Will Estes To Reunite With Donnie Wahlberg in Upcoming ‘Boston Blue’ Season

Since ‘Boston Blue’ spun off of ‘Blue Bloods,’ it’s been slowly and steadily giving us the Reagan family reunion they feel loyal fans of the original show deserve.

This time, Will Estes will be reprising his Jamie Reagan character for the upcoming season 2, making him the third Reagan family member to reprise their ‘Blue Bloods’ characters on the show, after Bridget Moynahan and Len Cariou.

Of course, we learned of this little news when Donnie Wahlberg (Danny Reagan), shared it on his Instagram on Aug. 7.

In the picture he shared on his Instagram stories, he is seen posing alongside fellow ‘Boston Blue’ stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Marcus Scribner, Mika Amonsen and Will Estes. Estes, of course, fans will recall played the younger brother of Danny Regan on ‘Blue Bloods.’

In the caption, Wahlberg removed all doubts as to the meaning behind the picture by writing, “Welcome (back) to the family! Jamie Regan! aka Will Estes!”

As of now, we’re unable to confirm how many episodes Estes will be in town for, or how his presence will offset Danny learning that Jamie and his wife Eddie’s son is named Joseph, after their late brother.

December was the first time fans learned that another Reagan will be dropping by in the show, though we weren’t told which one at the time.

“I don’t know that we should say which Reagans are coming, but there will be more — including some you haven’t seen on the show yet. And there are other branches of this family tree we’re excited to explore,” co-showrunner Brandon Sonnier told TVLine at the time.

Premiering on 17 October, 2025, the ‘Blue Bloods’ spinoff ‘Boston Blue’ follows NYPD detective Danny Reagan, as he takes a position with the Boston Police Department and is paired with detective Lena Silver, the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family. So far, fans have found themselves caught up in the show’s fast-paced world of crime-solving.
