Days Of Our Lives Rumor Mill: Sophia Mattsson Set To Play [Spoiler]?

Days of Our Lives spoilers confirm that Sophia Mattsson is slated to enter the canvas in 2027. Ever since the news hit that the General Hospital alum was headed to Salem, fans have been buzzing with speculation on who she will be playing, as her character has not yet been revealed. Now we have the scoop on the role Mattsson could be diving into.

Sophia Mattsson Stepping Into A Recast?

There’s been plenty of speculation as to the character Mattsson will play. There’s been buzz on social media that she’ll be an unknown child of Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), with the father of said child possibly being Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo), or John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn).

With that said, a new rumor rolling around the internet is that the actress might be stepping in as a recast.

Word has it that Mattsson might be the new Chloe Lane recast. The character was last played by Nadia Bjorlin. As Bjorlin originated the role, it may be hard for viewers to “see” Chloe as anyone else.

Plus, there is an age difference between Mattsson and Bjorlin, with Nadia being 46 and Sophia being 35. Only time will tell.

Chloe Lane’s History

Bjorlin has played Chloe Lane (on and off) since the character arrived on the Salem scene in 1999.

She was last seen heading to New York in 2023 with Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) to give their romance another go. Still, Philip ended up back in Salem the following year, noting that his reunion with Chloe didn’t work out.

Lane has plenty of ties to Salem, namely, her sister, Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins) currently resides in the little town, along with her sweet niece, Kelsey Kiriakis (Lena and Mira Chase).

Plus, she has plenty of exes on canvas, from Philip to Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer), and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf).

It’s important to note that neither Mattsson, nor Days of Our Lives, has made an official announcement. In fact, the show and the actress are all remaining very hush-hush about Mattsson’s Days character.
