It didn’t take long after the news arrived that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were moving to the UK for them to touch down on British soil, and media outlets already started new discussions about security and where they will live.
Landing In Birmingham
According to ET on YouTube, they arrived midweek and landed in Birmingham. Notably, they flew in a private jet, and royal expert Katie Nicholl told host Kevin Frazier that it “would have cost tens of thousands of pounds to come over from Los Angeles.”
Of course, that raises an eyebrow or two because Prince Harry has advocated “for sustainability.” However, Nicholl did note that they might have arrived in a private jet to avoid the crowds at international airports.
Destination: The Cotswold
Frazier noted that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived with their own security, and with no big fanfare before they drove to the Cotswolds.

It’s rumored they’ve chosen the area to live with their children. It’s a nice area, some distance from Prince William, who is reportedly unhappy about the Sussexes’ return.
According to the video, Harry and his family will stay in a Cotswold home that sits on “an 83-acre estate.” Per Nicholl, it’s “a pretty fabulous new home.” She also said, “It’s a very beautiful place… it’s an 18th century farmhouse. It has a swimming pool,” but is very private.
Other famous people who live in or have properties in the Cotswolds include Ellen DeGeneres, the Beckhams, and Jeremy Clarkson.
Meghan Will Split Her Time
The discussion also veered into the fact that Meghan Markle is believed to want to split time between the USA and the Cotswolds, while Harry will mostly remain in the United Kingdom.
It’s unclear what Prince Harry will do in the UK, although the discussion touched on several possibilities. One thing that was mentioned is that it’s unlikely right now that Harry will work in any way with royal duties.
It’s thought that Prince Harry wants to spend as much time as he can being a stay-at-home dad to Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie. But he still has some charitable events like WellChild and Invictus Games to occupy him.
Actually, it makes sense for him to spend more time at home with the kids, given Meghan Markle’s commuting lifestyle that the experts have predicted.
Security Issues
As for security, Harry is currently footing the bill himself, but Nicholl believes the family’s return could lead to changes. She said:
I’m sure there is going to be a change to Harry’s status when it comes to his security. I understand it’s being reviewed by the British Home Office at the moment… I’m told for the long term, certainly for Harry and the children, his security is going to be reviewed.
