When Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) drinks his spiked drink, which contains a “sleeping pill” given to Ava by Drew Cain (Cameron) Mathison) not only is Brennan distracted, he’s literally distracted to death!

Drew Wanted Ava To “Distract” Brennan So He Could Search His Metro Court Suite

GH fans will remember that Drew wanted Ava to “distract” Brennan so he could search his Metro Court Suite for the leverage he had on him regarding the McConkey Esplanade.

The leverage was that Drew had misused congressional funds for the piers project, even though at the time he was being leveraged too-by Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota).

So, Drew enlisted Ava Jerome (Maura West) to “keep Brennan busy” as he put it, offering to help her take down Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) who was giving her trouble over their child custody agreement.

But Drew is delayed for various reasons getting into Brennan’s suite, as Ava spikes Brennan’s bourbon with the crushed pill.

Ava knows that sleeping pills and alcohol don’t mix, but seeing Brennan drinks the hard stuff, she figures the worst that could happen is he’ll doze off!

Drew Told Ava He Intended To Remove The “Obstacle” By Taking Away Brennan’s Leverage Over Him

Drew told Ava he intended to remove “the obstacle” that is Brennan by taking away his leverage over him, not removing Brennan himself permanently!

Yet, as the Metro Court Gardens and the Metro Court Pool are closing for the night, and Ava and Brennan are there, the power goes out and so does Brennan!

Ava assumes that might be Drew’s distraction to be able to break into his suite-but the two of them can’t stay there, the area is closed.

She thinks Brennan is passed out drunk and drugged-but when she tries to rouse him, he doesn’t wake up and there’s no pulse-Ava’s in a panic!

Ava Tries CPR On Brennan, Knowing She Can’t Call 911-She’d Be Implicated!

Ava tries CPR on Brennan, knowing she can’t call 911, because a tox screen would be done and she’d be implicated-it’s on her record she messed with Morgan Corinthos’ (Bryan Craig) bipolar meds.

Ultimately, it was her older sister Olivia Jerome (Tonja Walker) who had rigged their brother Julian Jerome’s (William DeVry) car with a bomb, and it killed Morgan when he tried to steal the car. Still, that’s all that Ava can think about when faced with a dead Brennan, and he’s a big dead weight.

She does the only thing she can do, before someone comes into the area and sees what happened. She drags Brennan over to the pool and dumps him in-maybe they’ll assume he was so drunk he wandered to the pool and fell in!
