Kin Shriner Teases General Hospital Return After Ankle Replacement Recovery

Kin Shriner Teases General Hospital Return After Ankle Replacement RecoveryGeneral Hospital spoilers suggest it’s been a while since fans have seen Kin Shriner play Scott Baldwin on the ABC soap. Shriner recently hopped on social media teasing a possible return after an ankle replacement recovery.

Kin Shriner’s Update

General Hospital spoilers remind viewers that Shriner was last seen as Scotty on the daytime drama in August 2024.

He recently posted on the social media platform X about his health. Shriner shared a post of an X-ray of his leg, revealing new artificial pieces in place after ankle surgery. He provided a picture of himself, and his caption read, “Ankle replacement 3 months ago. I am walking and rehabilitating. Stay tuned.”

Shriner noted that his recovery has not been fun, also adding that he’s ‘looking to work again’.

Could this mean he’s headed back to General Hospital now that his ankle is back to normal? This would be perfect timing with his daughter, Serena Baldwin (Kelly Kruger), returning this past summer!

Shriner’s Ankle Problems

In 2025, Shriner talked about how he underwent a botched foot surgery, known as subtalar fusion, which is used to help deal with severe arthritis.

The actor noted that he ‘basically couldn’t walk’ for six months and gave credit to former General Hospital alum (and friend) John Stamos (ex-Blackie Parrish) for putting him in contact with another surgeon who redid the surgery.

Shriner replied to some fan questions on X about his ankle and explained that the damage was incurred because of ‘wear and tear’ from sports like basketball and water skiing. He also stated, “I just want to work. Rehab gets old.

There are many General Hospital fans that would LOVE to see him back!

The actor first stepped into the role of Scotty Baldwin in 1977, playing him on and off until 2024. Shriner has also had other roles in soaps, like The Bold and the Beautiful as Dr. Brian Carey from 1994 to 1995, as well as on The Young and the Restless playing Harrison Bartlett in 2004 and Jeffrey Bardwell in 2011. He also played Scotty in the General Hospital spinoff, Port Charles, from 1997 to 2001.
