Outback The Detective Dog

It seems like Outback might make a good detective dog, since she can’t keep from digging around Brennan’s shallow grave; there are dogs trained in search and rescue, and Outback seems to have that talent.

Sometimes they find live people who’ve gotten lost in the woods or other places, other times they find them too late to save-that would be the case with Brennan.

Serena recognized her and caught her just short of going into the restricted area, making a long scarf she’d been wearing into a high fashion leash, and brought her back to Cody.

Serena had been at the migratory bird-watching station. and caught the little “beagle bird” just in time to keep her from criminal trespassing, as Cody kidded.

Outback can’t seem to stay away from that area and keeps wanting to dig there. The last time, Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) caught her, bringing her back to Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard).

Mac And Felicia Came Over With A Meal

The day that Serena caught Outback and brought her back, Mac and Felicia Scorpio (John J. York, Kristina Wagner) dropped by Cody’s to welcome him back home after the book tour with Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos).

They came over with a meal, and were pleasantly surprised to find Serena there-they knew her when she was just a little girl. Mac mentioned that their late mother, Dominique Baldwin (Shell Danielson) would be happy her children were getting to know each other!

It’s possible that Outback will make another break for the nature preserve while Mac, Felicia, Cody and Serena are distracted with their meal and conversation.

Outback Could Lead Mac To Brennan’s Grave

It’s possible that not only Cody and Serena, but Mac and Felicia might take off after Outback, and that the hastily dug grave where Jack’s body was buried is within sight of the bird viewing station.

It’s easy to imagine Outback, channeling Lassie, barking and beckoning them to come over where she’s digging! 

To avoid going into a restricted area themselves, Mac may call the nature preserve ranger to come and investigate the site, knowing, no doubt, that there’s a WSB agent missing and advising the ranger.

That way, no one is doing anything illegal, and perhaps by that time, Outback’s dug up Brennan’s watch and brought it to them.

So the mystery of Brennan’s disappearance may be solved, with the help of a beagle and two animal lovers and a cop and a former private investigator!
