General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that Jack Brennan’s (Chris L. McKenna) tox screen may clear Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) of his murder.
Right now, Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) and Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett) know the tox screen showed a sleeping pill—a PRESCRIPTION sleeping pill; could the prescription be traced to the killer?
Key Takeaways
- Brennan’s toxicology results could help clear Carly and Valentin
- Lucas discovers a sleeping pill in Brennan’s system
- The prescription could provide a lead to the killer
- Drew supplied Ava with the pill used to drug Brennan
- Tracing the prescription could turn suspicion toward Drew
The Sleeping Pill Combined With Scotch May Have Been A Factor In Brennan’s Death
The sleeping pill combined with scotch may have been a factor in Brennan’s death, although the autopsy showed he drowned in chlorinated water—in other words, the Metro Court pool.
Lucas was able to convince Joe that Brennan was most likely drugged—and most people don’t go swimming in their clothes when they’re ready to go to bed!
But since the sleeping pill—although not a controlled substance—was a prescription, that prescription could be a lead to Jack’s killer.
Lucas also mentioned that General Hospital often prescribes that same sleeping pill.
It may take some warrants and a lot of detective work, but could that prescription be traced?
Drew Gave The Sleeping Pill To Ava To “Keep Jack Busy” But Was It From His Prescription?
General Hospital fans know that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) gave the sleeping pill to Ava Jerome (Maura West) to “keep Jack busy” while he proceeded to hack into Carly’s computer at the Metro Court.
That way, he was able to shut down the security system and all of the cameras—but here is the question that needs to be answered.
Was the pill from Drew’s prescription, or could it have been someone else’s?
It’s possible it could have been Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) from when they were together—and the pills might not have expired!
Even though Ava was seen with Brennan, and they were having drinks, no one has come forward who said they saw her crush a pill into them—so the person whose prescription it was from could be blamed!
Why Was Drew So Worried About Burying Brennan, If He Merely Drowned?
There’s another question that needs to be answered before Carly and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) can fully be cleared of the Brennan murder charges, if they can prove they don’t have a prescription for the sleeping pill.
Why was Drew so worried about burying Brennan if he merely drowned, and he and Ava found him in the pool after Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) and Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) did?
It has to be tied to the sleeping pill and Drew not wanting an autopsy and tox screen to find it in Brennan’s system.
But, on the other hand, he’s celebrating, thinking his frame job on Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will keep him and Ava safe from suspicion.
But still, if the prescription was his, it could be traced back to him, and he becomes suspect number one instead of Nina or anyone else!
Annemarie’s Take
If investigators can trace that sleeping pill back to Drew, his celebration could be over before it even begins!
Do you think Lucas will uncover the evidence that finally exposes Drew and Ava?
