This season Married at First Sight is in New Orleans. The risks couldn’t be greater, the steaks couldn’t be higher. The experts have matched five couples; Christina and Henry, Amelia and Bennett, Amani and Woody, Karen and Miles, Olivia, and Brett. These couples have put their faith in the hands of the experts.

Bennett is at the theatre with his sister and friends, so he can tell them that he is getting married to a stranger in less than two weeks. His friends are surprised and ask what if he doesn’t love her, Bennett says that he will cross that bridge when he gets there and he is genuinely hopeful that this might be the right person.

Amelia thinks this is the most absurd way to get married, but she is excited about it. She is now a doctor and looking forward to someone wanting to take care of her babies. She gathers around the living room with her friends and tells them that she is going to get married in two weeks. Her friend tells her that she is really special and they don’t know if they could find someone that is good enough for her. She hopes that he is not a doctor, but a stay at home father.

Karen meets her mom and friends at a restaurant, she tells them that MAFS found a match for her and she will be getting married in two weeks. Her mother asks her if she lost her mind, she knew she was talking about this, but she didn’t believe that she would go through with such a thing. Her mother asks what happens if she is not attracted to him. Karen says she is stepping out on faith. She goes on to say that she would rather she wait, and is not on board with this.

Miles has a video chat with his grandparents, who are like parents to him. He really wants to be married to his best friend, he has always dreamt of being married and being a father. He tells them that he is getting married in two weeks. His grandmother asks if he is in love, he says not really, he will meet her on his wedding day. He asks if they will be there, they say they support him no matter what. Miles says he wants to look back fifty years from now and have the same love that they do.

Olivia has two cats that are like her children. Her mother drives over for a visit, Olivia tells her that they found her a match and she is going to be getting married to a stranger in two weeks. Her mother says the first concern is that she is going to marry someone she doesn’t know, who is that on the other end. Olivia gets emotional. Her mom says that she hopes he is just as wonderful as she is.

Brett meets his family at a restaurant. He has been engaged before, but she cheated on him and it didn’t work. He tells his family that in two weeks he is getting married, everyone is shocked. He goes on to say he hasn’t met his new wife, a panel of experts have chosen her. His father thinks it is nuts that they don’t know each other and tells his son he shouldn’t do it.

Amani is hoping that the experts matched her with someone that she could be with forever. She meets her family and friends at a restaurant and tells them that she will be getting married in two weeks. Her cousin is happy for her, she hopes she is genuine.

Woody meets with his friends, Miles is there, they both tell them that they are getting married. Woody’s friends are shocked but happy for him. His cousin says she is surprised because he is a wild boy. His sister is not sure if this is the right move for him, he is a party guy and does what he does when he wants. At the end of it, everyone supports them.

Christina has never met her dad, it has always been her and her mom. They sit down together, she tells her that they found a match, her mother gets up and gives her a hug. Her mother is so happy for Christina, she hopes her dreams will come true. Christina asks her mom if she walks her down the aisle, she says yes.

Henry finds that he is really calm, even though he has been through a lot. He has had heart surgery, and that has made him realize that he is ready to take the next step. He meets with his friends and tells them that he is getting married, they say they are there to support him no matter what.

Time for the couples to go tuxedo and dress shopping. Woody is out with his friends trying on tuxedos, while Amani is out looking for a wedding dress. It doesn’t take long for Amani to walk out in a dress that gives her the wow factor. Brett is also out looking for his tux, the sales rep tells him to stay neutral because he doesn’t know what the woman is wearing and she doesn’t want him to clash with her.

Olivia is not having an easy time finding a gown, she is stressed and frustrated – but dress number ten is the dress and Olivia is relieved. Bennett is trying on tuxedos, he wants to wear a glitzy ball cap and his friends say it is a no. In the end, Bennett finds a great tux that suits his personality. Amelia’s turn to find a gown, she wants to find something to match her personality.

Karen is at the dress shop, her mom is there even though she is having a hard time getting on board. Miles is out getting his tuxedo, he tells the sales rep that when his wife sees him he wants her knees to buckle. Meanwhile, Karen finds the dress and her mother says that she looks like a goddess in it, and she will be behind her 100%. Karen’s mother makes a toast, to her beautiful daughter may she find love and be happy. Christina is dress shopping, she wants something sexy and timeless.

Henry is out at the same time, he is looking for a classic look. His friend Craig thinks that on the wedding day it is finally going to hit Henry what he is really doing. Karen finds the gown, she says she feels like a bride, she has tears in her eyes.

The five brides and the five grooms, meet each other, separately. Both the men and women are concerned that maybe they know their match already. Brett tells the men he is going to drink them under the table. Miles really like Bennett, he is real and authentic.

Brett says if there is not an immediate physical attraction them there is nothing there. Brett starts flirting with the server in front of the guys. They start talking about consummating the marriage on the wedding night, Woody says that a kiss is more intimate than sex. Miles says he just wants to be a good man and a good husband.

Meanwhile, Karen asks the women if they are going to kiss their husbands at the altar; they agree yes. Amani says she is taking it day by day, she hopes he is patient and understanding. Christina hopes he is in it for the right reasons.

The women have their bachelorette party, all in one. A stripper arrives, the women are really surprised. Christina starts to get anxiety, she would never do this in real life. The party is over, all the women sit together and talk. Christina tells them that the party made her anxious and nervous, but she is not nervous about the wedding at all.

The guys are at their bachelor party, lots of booze and strippers. Even Bennett is up and dancing. Woody is like a hundred miles an hour, but he brings life to the party. Bennett and Brett are talking with their friends, Bennett says that his family took it well. Brett goes over to where Henry is sitting with his friends, Brett hits on one of his friends and she doesn’t like it and doesn’t think Brett’s intentions are real in the process.

Amani is full of nervous, Woody is anxious and just ready to do it already. Christina is excited and ready to do this. Olivia is ready to get married and meet her husband. Brett hopes his wedding day is the most important day of his life. Amelia says the day is like bungee jumping. Bennett’s heart his racing, but he is fully committed.

The first couple to get married is Karen and Miles. Karen is nervous, she has been crying and she has doubts. She knows the good that can come from this, but also the bad. Miles is happy and excited, he is trying to stay as positive as possible.

Karen goes to speak to production staff off-camera and tells them that the evening before she got this text that she doesn’t think she was supposed to get, it had her husband’s full name. She looked him up, and he is not really her type. She says he seems like a nice guy but if her friends introduced her to him, she would probably say no to date him. She looked at all his Instagram stories, he seems like an emotional man. She doesn’t know what to do now, is she making the biggest mistake of her life. The producer tells her that ultimately it is her decision.
