General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Friday, July 17, tease that some excitement’s on the way. GH will re-air an episode that was originally seen on May 5, 2020. There’s some serious drama going on in this encore, so here’s what General Hospital fans can look forward to.
At Wyndemere, Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) pushes Ava Cassadine (Maura West) to get out of her toxic marriage. Ava argues that she wants Nikolas Cassadine’s (Marcus Coloma) fortune, but Franco doesn’t really think Ava needs it. When Franco suggests Ava’s punishing herself over what happened to Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin), Ava gets riled up and tells Franco to leave.
General Hospital Spoilers – Franco Baldwin Keeps Pushing
Franco keeps pushing until Ava yells that he should go back to being a psychopath. However, Franco insists he’s not one anymore and brings up the invitation that referenced his past. Ava contends that Franco’s history made him money and adds that talent only gets you so far.
After Franco mentions his earlier fight with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), Ava offers advice on how to patch things up. She hopes Franco will take it so she can feel like she’s done something right. Once Ava kisses Franco’s cheek, she admits he’s helped more than he knows.
At GH, Liz gets updates on Nikolas’ letter from Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel), which spells out his terms for a father-son relationship. Spencer will only let Nikolas back in his life if he divorces Ava first. Liz declares that it’s a get-out-of-jail-free card, but Nikolas points out he’ll lose everything if he goes along with Spencer’s demand.
Elizabeth fears there may be another reason for Nikolas’ reluctance to walk away. She worries that Nik may actually have feelings for Ava, but Nikolas denies feeling anything besides anger, frustration, and profound distaste. Nik doesn’t think Spencer understands what it’d be like to lose the Cassadine fortune. He’s also afraid of what Spencer will say if he calls him.
GH Spoilers – Nikolas Cassadine Should Fill Spencer Cassadine In
Liz thinks Nikolas should fill Spencer in and give him a chance to weigh in, but Nik shifts gears and wants to talk about Liz’s apparent problem. Liz brings Nikolas up to speed on her argument with Franco and his comment about her not being a real artist. Nikolas is appalled and feels Liz’s work had real soul in it.
Meanwhile, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco bicker at the community center. Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos) and Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) are on hand to watch this showdown, which features Kristina calling Sam and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) “danger junkies.” Kristina indicates that Jason would die for Sam – he just can’t live with her!
Molly reminds Kristina that Sam and Jason risked all to save her from Shiloh Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin). Kristina doesn’t think Jason and Sam can survive without drama in their relationship. She continues ranting about Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) coming first for Jason.
General Hospital Spoilers – Nelle Benson And Martin Gray Speak
At the Metro Court, Nelle Benson Archer (Chloe Lanier) talks to Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) about the custody hearing. Martin thinks the outcome depends on Nelle, so she wonders why she’s paying Martin so much money then.
Nelle wants Martin to bring up Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) recent breakup in court, but Martin points out that’d mean calling attention to Nelle’s past relationships, too. Martin reminds Nelle of all her dead previous partners, but she insists Zachary Grant’s death was an accident.
Nelle praises herself for preventing Ryan Chamberlain’s (Jon Lindstrom) escape and contends that Shiloh was the love of her life. Martin obviously isn’t buying any of this, but he focuses on something that could actually help Nelle. She needs a character witness – one who’s not behind bars if possible.
After Carly interrupts Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Jasper “Jax” Jacks’ (Ingo Rademacher) at Crimson, she pushes for dirt on Nelle. Nina doesn’t have anything for Carly since Nelle’s been an exemplary employee. She thinks Nelle and Michael should compromise for Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos’ (Erik and Theo Olson).
Nina thinks Nelle’s trying to be better, but Carly insists Nelle’s a pathological liar. She feels like Nelle’s pulled the wool over Nina’s eyes. Nina brings Carly’s past and wonders what it’d been like for her if nobody had stood by her. Jax doesn’t think it’s fair to compare Carly to Nelle.
Carly suggests that Nina can’t fully grasp motherhood since Nina’s never been a mom, but she catches herself and tries to undo the damage. Even so, Carly’s adamant about standing against Nelle. As Carly exits, she bumps into Nelle and clashes with her. Carly’s onto Nelle and feels she’s just going to betray Nina sooner or later.
Back with Nina, she talks to Jax about seeing Nelle’s vulnerable side and believing Nelle could change. Nina just thinks Nelle needs someone to believe in her. Nelle eavesdrops briefly before knocking and entering. Once Jax is gone, Nelle expresses her gratitude over the way Nina stood up for her. She also wonders if Nina would be willing to testify for her in court.
