TLC’s “90 Day Fiancé-Happily Ever After” star Andrei Castravet is interrogated about his past in the next episode, “The Best Mistake Of My Life”.
TLC 90 Day Fiance’ Spoilers – Andrei Reveals That He Was A Police Detective When He Lived In Moldova
Andrei and Elizabeth pick up her father and brother, Chuck and Charlie, respectively, at the airport where they have arrived for Andrei and Elizabeth’s Moldovan wedding. Elizabeth notes her sister Jenn will be coming too, but on a separate flight, while Rebecca and Megan stay home with their babies, who are about the same age as Eleanor or a little younger. It is unclear so far whether their mother will be coming with Jenn or not attending at all.
Elizabeth is overjoyed to see her father and brother, although Andrei is not quite so enthusiastic. As viewers of “90 Day Fiancé-Happily Ever After?” know, Andrei does not get along too well with his in-laws, and even expresses relief in the sneak peek that his family does not understand English, so that they would not understand Elizabeth’s family’s snarky and possibly disparaging remarks. As Chuck and Charlie pile into the car with Andrei and Elizabeth, Eleanor presumably with her Moldovan grandparents as she is not seen in the clip, they ask all kinds of questions about Moldova.
They ask if there are Walmarts, if there are other things common to America in Moldova, and are met with “no” from both Andrei and Elizabeth, and then they ask about police – and if police write speeding tickets, of all things. Perhaps Chuck saw a number on the speedometer of the car that Andrei was driving, which could be in metric numbers to begin with, likely being a foreign rental. Andrei replies police in Moldova write tickets, but they write tickets to receive bribes to get out of the tickets!
Then he reveals he was a policeman – but not on patrol after Chuck and Charlie getting incredulous looks on their faces like they could not believe Andrei ever had a job in Moldova, let alone a police career after he reveals that he was in the office – Chuck couldn’t figure out how a policeman would have an office job – and Andrei explains he was a detective.
TLC 90 Day Fiance’ Spoilers – Chuck And Charlie Begin Their Interrogation Of Former Moldovan Police Detective Andrei
Andrei, to the producers, explains that in Moldova the police and the people were bad, and that’s why he quit his detective career to move to Ireland, where he became a bouncer! Then Chuck and Charlie start interrogating him as to why he would move out of Moldova and leave a presumably high paying career behind (in America, $43,000 and upwards), not to mention his friends and family.
Andrei admitted he had some trouble, and Chuck and Charlie immediately wanted to know what kind of trouble, if he had been in trouble, and obviously assumed trouble of the criminal kind, because they feel Elizabeth rushed into her relationship and marriage to him anyway.

Chuck, to the TLC producers, as well as Charlie, say they want to know more about Andrei – and how he behaves in his home element, and in particular if he has a criminal past since Andrei seemed to be very evasive about what exactly the “trouble” was. They said they will continue to dig until they get to the bottom of it, Andrei visibly uncomfortable as they continued trying to buttonhole him about his past “trouble!”
