Meghan Markle Refused Kate Middleton’s Flowers Saying It ‘Wasn’t Enough’

A lovely bouquet of flowers can be a traditional peace offering when one needs to mend fences. Unfortunately, posies don’t seem to be good enough for Me-me-Meghan Markle when it comes to her royal rival Kate Middleton. According to Vanity Fair, Kate graciously sent flowers to Meghan as a “peace offering,” but Meghan clapped back, “in no uncertain terms that it was not enough.”

The news comes after excerpts from Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durant’s bio of Harry and Meghan, Finding Freedom, were released on Friday. In the book, they make it clear that the two women never became friends alleging that poor Meghan was left utterly “disappointed” that Kate never reached out to her.

Apparently that is not true according to Vanity Fair, and this rebuke is the latest blow to land on Markle’s battered reputation.

In contrast, Finding Freedom tries to make the point that the ladies, “struggled to move past distance politeness,” and had “nothing in common other than the fact that they lived at Kensington Palace.”

In response royal expert Katie Nicholl has revealed that Kate did send flowers to mollify Meghan’s mood but in response, “Meghan told Kate in no uncertain terms that flowers were not enough.”

If that sounds harsh and unfriendly to you, you’re not alone. Additionally, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have made it clear that they did not, as Meghan would say, “snub” her.

In response to the book’s claim that among other injustices, Kate snubbed her sister-in-law at Meghan’s last royal appearance, Prince William and Kate’s friends are setting the record straight.

They say the two, “rolled out the red carpet” for Meghan and did “all they possibly could” to welcome her. And their examples are quite convincing, but maybe it wasn’t enough to eat at their dinner table, with a meal specially prepared for her—maybe Meghan expected to be invited to live there as she has done in two other borrowed houses (one in Canada, one in America) to date?

According to sources, William and Kate invited Meghan to spend Christmas with them, invited her to Wimbledon twice, and even cooked a vegan meal especially for her at their home.

For most of us, all of these gestures would be lovely and welcoming. But according to the book that boasts it presents Meghan and Harry’s side of the story, after all of this Meghan was upset that Kate didn’t “check in on her,” on her birthday even though she sent flowers.
