Queen Elizabeth Reportedly Had To Referee A Squabble Between Meghan Markle And Kate Middleton

It’s really not in her job description and surely Queen Elizabeth has better things to do than referee family squabbles. But apparently that is exactly what she had to do when the “bickering” between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton got to be too over the top even for a woman used to negotiating heated international affairs.

The Daily Star reports that royal watcher Tom Quinn claims the queen actually had to be transported from Buckingham Palace to Kensington Palace to squash the beef between the leading ladies.

Quinn was told by an insider that the queen was forced to, “try to stop the bickering” between the sisters-in-law. His example has been recalled by others as well although sometimes with a bit of a different twist.

In his book, Kensington Palace ‘An Intimate Memoir from Queen Mary to Meghan Markle, Quinn writes, “At first the couples got on well – William and Harry have always been close – but inevitably there were tensions. As one insider explains, ‘both William and Harry were always likely to be drawn to confident, strong women because they lost their mother so early.’”

According to the insider, Kate, “was very warm towards Meghan when she arrived. But tensions were bound to arise because Meghan inevitably had to accept that although she is a Duchess she is not married to the next king.”

“I think she has found that difficult to deal with and although Harry loved their cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, Meghan was conscious that it was tiny in comparison to the vast apartment complex where Kate and William live. Harry has nothing to prove. Meghan has everything to prove. That’s the problem.”

Apparently Meghan Markle Was Out Of Her Element In The UK Trying To Prove Herself And Coming Up Short?

Was Meghan’s coming up short in every department that counted the real reason for Megxit? It very well could have been based on the insider’s account.

According to the insider, “I know, for example, that tensions reached such a pitch that the Queen herself was driven to Kensington from Buckingham Palace to try to stop the bickering.”

Conversely, the authors of the biography Finding Freedom, which dissects Meghan and Harry’s UK life, claim there was no beef between the two women. The writers assert that Meghan hoped Kate would reach out to her but, “didn’t lose sleep” over it when she did not. Which sounds catty as all get out, and could reveal another reason why Megxit was rolled out.
