If there’s anything that Royal Family fans know about the British Royal Family, it’s that there will always be just one Princess Diana, and that’s a fact that won’t change. While it seems like the British media is trying to find the ‘next Diana’ in either Kate Middleton or Sophie Wessex, fans would agree that it’s Meghan Markle who might be trying the hardest to fit that role. Here are five examples of how the Duchess of Sussex is trying to emulate her late mother-in-law, and how it’s not working.
Meghan Is Trying To Go Against The British Royal Family Tide
The moment that Princess Diana pulled the plug on her marriage to Prince Charles, she felt free. Now that she was on the other side of the Buckingham Palace doors, she could do things her way, without the constant restraints of royal rules and protocol. In some way, Meghan Markle is trying to do the same. While she hasn’t divorced Prince Harry yet, she did divorce the couple from the monarchy in order for them to live by their own set of rules.
Meghan Is Trying To Recreate Diana’s Signature Coy Smile
If there is one thing that royal fans noticed on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding day back in May of 2018, it’s that the former Hollywood actress tried to copy Diana’s signature coy smile each and every time she looked at Prince Harry. Some were quick to point out that Meghan did not look as authentic in her facial expressions as Princess Diana did on her own wedding day.
Meghan Markle Wants To Be Everyone’s Media Darling
As many royal fans know, Princess Diana didn’t really become the ‘Princess of Hearts’ until after her divorce from Prince Charles. That’s when the world got to see the real Diana and that’s also when they fell in love with her. Meghan, meanwhile, is doing everything she can to become everyone’s media darling, but all she’s received so far is criticism and backlash for all that she’s done.

While Princess Diana knew that the only way she could send her messages to the world is through her wardrobe, and she did that with great precision and execution. While there’s no doubt that Meghan is trying to follow in Diana’s stylish footsteps, she is yet to have an iconic moment like Princess Diana had so many times in the past.
Meghan Is Even Wearing Princess Diana’s Jewelry
Believe it or not, Meghan Markle is even wearing a lot of Princess Diana’s classic and timeless jewelry pieces. While it hasn’t been confirmed yet, there’s speculation that Meghan is wearing the same emerald-cut aquamarine ring that once belonged to Princess Diana in her latest portrait with Prince Harry.

If that weren’t enough, eagle-eyed royal fans also noticed that Meghan was wearing Princess Diana’s Cartier Love Bracelet and watch. Earlier reports indicate that both items were a present that Meghan received from Prince Harry before the couple got engaged.

This woman couldn't hold a candle to Princess Diana. She is nothing like her and never could be if she lived to be 100 years old. Diana was in a class all of her own. Her biggest mistake was marrying Charles in the first place.
I just saw a picture of her without make up and no one will believe it if they do not zoom in on the picture. She does not have good skin at all. It is all phony, coverup.
If Megan is trying to be the next Diana it just illustrates to me more how silly she really is. Diana was a young woman when she died, has never seen her son's grow and have children of their own and why? Was it an accident or was she getting too political over land mines etc. Or was she killed in an accident due to using the media (much like Megan and Harry are now) to court fame and status for her causes either way her actions resulted in tragedy, one that might have been avoided had she took a more subtle, low profile approach. If Megan wants to look to Diana for inspiration I would suggest she look first to what it cost Diana and her son's. The greatest importance of past history is it's use for education and advice. There is no doubt Diana was a wonderful woman, a woman who brought the world lessons in love, care and compassion but it cost her dearly.
I would say by all means Megan follow Diana's wonderful caring example but also heed how some of her actions may have contributed to her, a beautiful woman lost to her family and the world too soon.
There is no way that Monster could in any way come within a ounce of what Diana had. She is a selfish cruel controlling egotistical drunk. She is not Royal material and can't have it both ways. SHE IS NOT A DUCHESS OF ANYTHING. She had a choice and made it now live with it. She is hated as much that Diana IS loved. So shut up we have no interest in anything about you. Megan Monster
I think she is her own unique self. They are happy and for some reason the world cannot stand it. Princess Diana was beloved by all except the Royal Family! Prince Charles treated her like crap. Of course Prince Harry would want more for his family. He wants his wife to live for a long time. Yet the media continues to disect their every movement. Let them live in peace!
