Manning discussed the unexpected bond between the two men. He also explained why Xander aka “The Lovable Villain” symbolizes hope for all the other characters.

DOOL spoilers reveal that Xander has committed some unspeakable and terrible things. Many of his despicable deeds were done to people in Salem. Even though he has a long and extensive history of making his victims suffer without a twinge of guilt, he has somewhat evolved. He will never be a good guy, but he’s not a total villain anymore, either.

As for Charlie, (Mike C. Manning) he is the new Titan intern and viewers are not sure if he is a good or bad guy. There is certainly a lot we don’t know about him, but he has to have a story. We recently saw Xander (Paul Telfer) give Charlie advice about Claire Brady (Isabel Durant). Now, it wasn’t very good advice, but Xander is still clueless about right vs wrong. So, we don’t think he intentionally set out to make Charlie fail. That is just what Xander would do and he doesn’t know any better.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Manning spoke to Soaps.com about Xander and Charlie. When discussing Salem’s bad boy, Charlie said that the character gives hope to all of the other people in Salem. He explained,

“Xander gives other characters hope. I mean, the guy has killed people, he’s kidnapped people… he’s done a lot of bad things! Yet people really like him. He’s like the lovable villain.”

DOOL Spoilers – Brotherly Bond Teased

Xander trying to give Charlie advice about love was unexpected. However, that won’t be the only non-work interaction the two will have. Apparently, Xander and Charlie spend more time together and they develop a brotherly bond.

“Xander has become like a big brother to Charlie and Paul’s sort of been that way with me, too. So it’s been fun to play that relationship on the show even as you’re developing that same bond with the other actor.”

As for Claire, she will have more scenes with Charlie, as well. Even though the intern thinks he’s struck out, their story isn’t over yet.
