Doug McBride … Back From The Dead?

Beyond the Gates spoilers reveal that fans were shocked at the end of the Friday, May 22 episode when Doug McBride, played by Jason Graham, appeared in the hallways of the country club, right before his daughter, Deanna McBride (Angela Fairley).

Not much was said, so at this point, fans aren’t sure if Doug is “real”, a hallucination, or a ghost.

Doug died in a fiery car crash September 2025, so when his name was shown during the show’s casting credits at the end of the Wednesday, May 20 episode, there was a buzz on the internet. It’ll be interesting to see how this storyline plays out.

Goodbye, Derek Baldwin

As one character returns, another meets his demise! Fans were also saddened by the passing of Derek Baldwin, played by Ben Gavin.

Derek was in the warehouse during the plasma ring bust and died a hero as he jumped into action to ensure his Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) dodged a bullet.

Sadly, he got shot instead and later died in the hospital during surgery. Gavin was an original cast member who had been on the show since the soap’s inception in February 2025.
