Beyond the Gates spoilers suggest that the Friday, June 27 episode was explosive; however, fans are going to have to wait two weekends and five days to see what happens next in the land of Fairmont Crest.
That’s because the week of June 30 to July 4 is all reruns. As the other CBS daytime dramas are all running new shows next week, BTG audiences have been left wondering the reason.
Some Preemptions Are Taking Place
Beyond the Gates’ Creator and Head Writer, Michele Van Jean, hopped on X the evening of Friday, June 27, after the spoilers of all the other daytime dramas were released, addressing the show’s five-day pre-emption.
Of course, with July 4 being Independence Day, General Hospital will be preempted; Days of Our Lives is not affected as it is aired on the streaming platform, Peacock; and The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful – the two other soaps on CBS’s daytime line up – have five new episodes viewers can sink their teeth into.
Michele Van Jean’s X Post
To those asking: preemption-rerun decisions are made way above my pay grade so no insight into that. The good news is the upcoming reruns are premiere week so those of you who missed it can catch up with how it all began. #BeyondTheGates #BTG

In her X post, Michele writes, “To those asking: preemption-rerun decisions are made way above my pay grade so no insight into that.”
She goes on to say, “The good news is the upcoming reruns are premiere week so those of you who missed it can catch up with how it all began. #BeyondtheGates #BTG”
While it will be fun for some fans to rewatch the Fairmont Crest drama from the beginning, the move to have a week-long hiatus seems perplexing at best.
Still, for fans who may be concerned about cancellation, the new CBS soap was picked up for Season 2 recently, despite dragging behind in the ratings of the other three soaps on cable.
The Y&R leads the daytime pack when it comes to viewership, followed by B&B, so here’s hoping that BTG can continue to build a fan base. The soap has done better than its predecessor in the timeslot, The Talk, so that’s hopeful.

So wrong to tease us with upcoming scenes last week then turn around and show reruns this week. And not so much as a heads up before today. I was very disappointed. Funny how that only happens to this soap while the others will be running new episodes all this week. CBS needs to do better.
