Bold And The Beautiful News: Jacqueline MacInnes Wood Talks How Baby Rise Changed Her Life

“The Bold and the Beautiful” star Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, known for her role as Steffy Forrester on the show, didn’t hold back when she described how her baby boy, Rise Harlen Ruspoli, has changed her life significantly. She is still a work in progress when it comes to motherhood, but she’s happy and grateful that she’s got constant support at home, from her husband Elan Ruspoli.

She shared that her delivery didn’t go quite as smooth as she hoped for. Rise came in three weeks late, which meant Wood was 10 and a half months pregnant before she gave birth. She didn’t’ want to be induced, so she tried every way possible to induce herself. These include eating spicy food and even dancing on the CBS rooftop.

In an interview with Soaps In Depth, she joked, “I must have been quite the hoot for people in the offices. A pregnant woman literary trying to dance her baby out.”

By the time she had contractions, she and Elan got in the car. While they were on their way to the hospital, she asked him to put on “Salt Shaker” by the Ying Yang Twins, closed her eyes, and tried to dance the pain away.

Bold And The Beautiful News – Mother and Son Loves Dancing

Wood’s baby boy is now five months old. She said her dancing days before and during her birth may have played a role in how Rise is now. She described him as a baby who loves to dance and it seems like it’s the only way to calm him down.

The actress said “My husband [Elan] tells me, ‘You did this to yourself, because you were dancing the entire time you were pregnant!’” Rise may have gotten his dance moves from his mother, but he definitely got his looks for his dad. Wood laughed when she said, “I feel as though I gave birth to my husband. He has Elan’s eyes, which are very distinct, but he has my nose. And there’s a dimple on his chin, which we actually think he got from my mom.”

A Work In Progress

If people based it on her Instagram feed, it would look like she’s got motherhood all figured out. But she admitted that she’s just like any new mother out there. She recalled that her first moment of freak out was the time they left the hospital.

During the first two days, she said, “you keep looking at him like, ‘Are you breathing? Are you alive?’ You just keep doing that, and then you kind of start picking up on their cues. I’m a work in progress. I’m still learning, but you just figure it out day by day.”
