Brooke freaks when Bridget severs their relationship. Bridget is all that matters to her. She claims she only slept with Deacon because she thought Bridget’s marriage was over. Brooke says that she agreed to go along with Whip’s scheme and married a man she doesn’t love to protect Bridget.
Bridget encourages her mother to go for it and start a life with Deacon and the baby. Brooke begs her daughter to give her a second chance to prove her love. She promises to change. Bridget rejects Brooke’s apologies. Bridget is done with her mother. It’s not about forgiveness, it’s about trust.
Whip Jones (Rick Hearst) goes to Deacon’s place looking for Brooke. Deacon believes everything is fine: Bridget and Brooke are in Big Bear. Whip is relieved that Bridget did not hear Deacon’s conversation with Brooke over the baby monitor. Whip believes Deacon set it up so that he’d have Brooke and the baby all to himself. Whip warns Deacon to stay away from his wife.

Deacon agrees but still believes the truth will come out eventually. He plans to set up a publicity tour on the road for Bridget’s Ambrosia line.
Whip changes his tune and admits that Deacon’s sacrifice is admirable. He just wants to see Brooke happy. Deacon says neither of them can make Brooke happy. Whip is thrilled when Deacon says he’s leaving tomorrow. He promises to treat the baby as his own.
Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) interrupts Brooke and Bridget. Bridget walks out with Brooke hanging on, pleading with her not to leave. Stephanie tells Brooke to stop groveling and respect her daughter’s decision. A hysterical Brooke goes into labor.
