But with all that’s happened through the years and most importantly, the just-ended Beth Spencer (Madeline Valdez and River Davidson) debacle, has convinced Brooke that Thomas remains a threat to others, including those she loves.
Brooke believes that Thomas does care about his son. However, that doesn’t sway her feelings regarding his lack of parental instincts.Thomas probably used Douglas as an emotional weapon against Hope Forrester (Annika Noelle). The tactic temporarily worked. She agreed to become Douglas’ stepmother as part of an agreement to marry Thomas.

The idea that any parent would use their child, no matter the offspring’s age, in order to manipulate another person into marriage is abhorrent. Add to that Douglas’ kindergarten status and the depth of Thomas’ unbalanced thoughts can’t be denied.
The theory of redemption is sound. However, Thomas skated past any form of justice for his amoral and illegal actions. Though his push off the cliff could be seen as a consequence. Lang’s character remains opposed to her husband’s continued pleas for his son because Thomas hasn’t paid what would normally be considered his just due for all that he did. Brooke believes that Thomas is now using Ridge as a shield, while remaining a deep risk.

Ridge has withheld what he knows about Thomas’ involvement in Emma Barber’s (Nia Sioux) death. Kaye’s character sees that as a necessary choice in order to try and massage Thomas’ case for forgiveness.
Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Didn’t Know How To Be A Single Parent
Part of Thomas’ acknowledgment to his father at the hospital included the honest admission that he didn’t know how to be a single parent. Ridge took pity on his misguided son, pledging to stand by him.
Caroline Spencer’s (Linsey Godfrey) unexpected death resulted in Thomas bringing Douglas back to Los Angeles, California. Atkinson’s character then played off everyone’s heartfelt response, turning his family’s compassion into something ugly.

Knowing that he wasn’t welcomed back into Brooke’s house, Thomas still chose to see Douglas. Yet another decision that fronts the sympathy card, while also reinforcing Brooke’s suspicions about her stepson’s lack of personal growth.
