The Bold and The Beautiful spoilers tease that Dollar Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) will intervene when Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) returns to LA and tries to reclaim Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) in future episodes of The Bold and The Beautiful; he will pull out all stops to protect his little grandnephew including a DNA test and will find Thomas isn’t even the little boy’s birth father!

The Bold and the Beautiful Comings and Goings – A Custody Battle Will Ensue When Thomas Forrester Returns

It is likely that a custody battle will ensue when Thomas returns to town because all he had left was Douglas and even Douglas rejected him in the end; Douglas wanted to stay with his “mommy” Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and his much older cousin Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and baby Beth Spencer (Madeline Valdez).

Viewers of The Bold and The Beautiful will recall that little Douglas even performed a sweet “wedding ceremony” at the cabin, with Beth as the “witness”. But Thomas mistreated little Douglas, and even though Liam tried to intervene as well as Hope, neither had as much legal standing or ability to fight Thomas for custody as Diamond Bill might, being Douglas’ maternal great-uncle – and a closer relation!

Bold and the Beautiful Updates – Who Is Douglas’ Father?

Longtime viewers will recall that Diamond Bill’s sister, Karen Spencer (Joanna Johnson) was Caroline Spencer ll’s (Linsey Godfrey) mother, and she was named after her aunt Caroline Spencer Forrester l (Joanna Johnson) who was her mother’s identical twin. Caroline Spencer ll was Douglas’ birth mother.

So Diamond Bill is a much closer relative to Douglas than Liam is. Technically, to Liam, Douglas would be his first cousin once removed. Hope has an arrangement with Thomas to co-parent Douglas, but it is not a legal arrangement filed in court so she has no standing to fight for custody either. However, Diamond Bill does!

B&B Spoilers 2020 – Bill Spencer Pulls Out All The Stops

Diamond Bill intervenes and fights for full custody of Douglas himself. It might look better to the court if Katie Logan Spencer (Heather Tom) and he were reconciled and married, and for the sake of a child’s safety Katie may agree to make up with him and remarry. They have a son, Will Spencer (Finnegan George) close to the same age together and Katie’s not going to let Thomas win sole custody of Douglas if she can help it!

She is Hope’s aunt, and if she and Bill are married she has legal standing with him and once they get sole custody they can work on getting it transferred to Liam and Hope, who should be legally married by that time, as well. Diamond Bill demands a paternity test because Douglas was born in March of 2014 and she married Rick Forrester (Jacob Young) in 2013 – and she had been involved with both Thomas and Rick during the time period when Douglas would have been conceived!

CBS Bold and Beautiful Spoilers – The Search For Douglas’ Dad

So, considering she didn’t say anything about being pregnant before she left town with Thomas and then she died under possibly mysterious circumstances – a blood clot, Thomas said – Diamond Bill gets a warrant forcing Thomas to give up the DNA to be tested with Douglas’ – and lo and behold, he’s not a match!

That leaves either Rick or possibly Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) as Douglas’ birth father, which gives Diamond Bill a bit of a sticky wicket – Rick left town and Ridge hates his guts because of their years-long rivalry over Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) so he consults with his attorney as to whether the birth father has to be found, and the attorney says yes so he decides to ask Eric Forrester (John McCook) to be tested – if he is a familial match than the baby daddy has to be Rick, because Ridge had a different father, and he’s a Forrester in name only.

Brooke is Rick’s mother, and it turns out to be Rick. He meets with Liam and Hope and tells them the outcome of the DNA test and Hope talks to her mother, who contacts Rick, who gives his approval for the boy to be adopted by Bill and Katie to keep Thomas away and also work on Thomas being proven an unfit father. To Thomas, his not being a match to Douglas is a shock – but to everyone else, it’s a pleasant surprise!
