The Bold And The Beautiful Gives Us The Vinny Twist We Never Saw Coming

When The Bold and the Beautiful hyped up a murder mystery earlier this year and the victim turned out to be Vinny (Joe LoCicero) with us knowing Liam (Scott Clifton) was the one to run him over, we ho-hummed and blasted the show for taking the easy way out and killing off a peripheral recurring character whose death would have little impact on story in the long run. It turns out there really was a twist to Vinny’s death and it was not the twist we expected.

The Bold And The Beautiful Throws A Curveball On Vinny Walker ‘s Death

There had to be more to it than Liam hitting Vinny with his car and Bill (Don Diamont) turning the incident into a hit and run. Maybe Vinny was involved in a drug deal gone wrong and was thrown into the road, having been beat up before Liam even hit him. After all, there had to be some reason that he was there. Never mind the coincidence that of all the cars in Los Angeles, one of the country’s most populous cities, Liam’s was the one that hit Vinny.

Well, it turns out that it wasn’t a coincidence at all. Vinny planned it that way. He apparently committed suicide, which he essentially recorded for Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) to see. Did your jaws not drop as Thomas watched that final video from Vinny he had never seen before after blocking his number in anger? Vinny was so distraught that he seemed to have felt he had nothing to live for, but he was going to give Thomas the gift of Hope (Annika Noelle) in the end even if it cost him his life.

There’s so much to unpack here as The Bold and the Beautiful shocks viewers. We now have to accept that Vinny Walker loved his college buddy and forever best friend Thomas Forrester so much that he was willing to die for him. In Vinny’s mind, Thomas had to end up with Hope and he was going to make it happen. He tracked Liam’s car and planned to throw himself into the road for Liam to hit him so that Liam could go to jail and Thomas could have Hope. That’s some super dedication from a friend, but also extremely disturbing because Vinny did kill himself after all. Is there more to what really happened or is there more to come?
