However, John McCook (Eric Forrester) explained that there are other challenges for the cast. One of those is how and where the actors rehearse. Running through lines isn’t as simple as it used to be.

Fans have heard about social distancing, using creative camera angles, limiting personnel on the set, and periodic COVID testing. However, coronavirus has also changed things beyond the set.

Safety Measures Go Beyond The Set

One part of an actor’s job is to memorize lines. It’s not just reciting words, but they also need to convey the message and feelings attached to the storyline. While it is possible to do it alone, it’s much easier and more effective to go through the lines with the other actors. McCook likes to rehearse with Rena Sofer, who plays his on-screen wife, Quinn Forrester.

B&B Spoilers – John McCook Explains Rehearsal Challenge

The Bold and the Beautiful actor explained to Soap Opera Digest that he is adapting to the changes. However, he is dealing with a bit of a challenge when it comes to rehearsing. For McCook, he says that filming his scenes is only a small part of his job. He estimates that 75 percent of his workday is actually rehearsing.

However, McCook and Sofer can’t run through their lines like they used to. Two people can’t be in a dressing room. They try to find an area where they can rehearse their scenes. Sometimes, they head outside and go through the scripts on the balcony. Other times, they have to search for an open-air room.

Cast Is Adjusting

Even though the workplace is very different for the soap stars, they are thankful to be filming again. They have gone months apart, so it’s exciting to be back working together again. McCook admits that safety regulations are strict and conservative. However, he feels that at the end of the day, the sacrifices are worth it. He’s definitely up to the challenge, as are the rest of the cast members.
