Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) was believed to be dead on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’. At least that’s what the only partial witness, Hope Logan (Annika Noelle), was thinking when she told Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) following the aftermath of the dinner and custody rights signing event that occurred in Forrester Creations head office.
Realizing that Thomas had accidentally fallen into a vat of hydrofluoric acid was horrifying. Most people would react to that scenario exactly as Hope did. They would also panic.
But seeing no body floating in the many gallons of that specific chemical wasn’t evidence that Thomas dissolved to the otherworld. Instead, he managed to cheat death for the second time in recent months. So how did he do that, exactly?
Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Leverage Gained For Next Comeback
Assuming Thomas isn’t dead, he’s surely alive and enraged. He’ll want to use his anger to the best possible advantage. In all likelihood, Thomas will return and play the victim.
Hope’s belief that she is the villain will make her vulnerable to whatever adjusted trade agreement he offers this time. One would think his desire of having Hope as Douglas Forrester’s (Henry Joseph Samiri) mother won’t need to be requested, due to the adoption agreement. Instead, the lead request would be for some form of relationship or even a demand for remarriage.
However, before fans get to that point in the plot they’ll need to know how Thomas managed to cheat death this time.
B&B Spoilers – Pulling Himself To Safety
Thomas is in shape, as the many shots B&B has offered in recent months have reinforced. Looking back, it seems obvious that viewers were being taught that his physical health was what allowed him to seemingly survive the cliff fall with no lasting internal, or external damage.
Viewers saw Thomas surface, apparently unconscious after falling into the vat. But Hope did not, as she’d run out of the room after he tried to plant a high school sweetheart-type kiss on her. Yes, Thomas’ mentality is often more juvenile than sinister, as Hope seems to be realized after the fact.
The above scene allowed enough time for Thomas to have awoken and crawled out of the vat. It was dark enough that any liquid chemical stains would not have been seen when Hope returned to look for him and convinced herself that he’d disintegrated B-movie style.

Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Someone Rescued Thomas Forrester
Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) is the most likely person to have rescued Thomas before he was eaten alive by the acid. Her absence from Los Angeles, California, was suddenly ended, as Zoe just so happened to pass Thomas in the hallway at Vincent Walker’s (Joe LoCicero) apartment building earlier this fall.
Linking Zoe to Thomas on purpose felt like a foreshadowing moment when it happened. Soap fans are savvy, so they’ve been waiting for that happenstance to be capitalized upon.
Zoe’s unusual romantic play for Thomas followed his promise to secure her return to modeling at FC. So, it makes sense that another high odds circumstance would happen with Zoe being in the storage room just after Hope and Thomas had their disagreement.
However, it’s possible that Thomas was helped by one of the workers who was seen in protective gear that day. In that instance, Thomas surely would have gone to Vinny’s apartment to hide out with Zoe instead.

Yes he is alive.
Vat was already being cleaned and was filled with water
Hydrochloric acid was already in the rinse cycle, so Thomas was just in the water rinse. Thomas fell in the water that was being cycled to clean the Vat.
The safety men weren’t even around anymore. Even the character “Jake” had no longer a part in that scene. The Vat should still have a fence around it, instead of open water. I guess that’s the B & B show, just imagination. (ha,ha)
It was mentioned in one of the shows about removing the acid and replacing with water.
