From what we can tell so far, it seems like 2023 is going to be the year of Dollar Bill Spencer. That’s because the old Bill is coming back out to play again. According to the latest edition of Soap Opera Digest, Don Diamont says that this new, reinvigorated Bill might just be worse than the version of Bill that fans saw back in 2009. He says, “This is worse than that. This is worse than the guy who came on the scene almost 14 years ago. He can be a pretty bad guy, and things are spiraling out of control.”

The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say that Bill takes symbolic action when he puts the Spencer sword necklace back on. You all know what that means, right? Don says, “Historically, the necklace was an object and a manifestation of who Bill is and how Bill say himself. He was a pirate. He took no prisoners. When he took it off, it was a big deal, and now he puts it back on because he feels things are crumbling around him. Everything he has done to be what others have wanted him to be has not given him any personal satisfaction.

In fact, he’s really putting the necklace on for protection, from himself and from the outside world. There are many factors that have gone into this decision, but in the back of Bill’s mind, he still does believe that if he can get his family back, then that will save him and he can avoid falling into a deep dark chasm, dark where he has never been before.”

Don also said that when it comes to his character Bill Spencer, he’s got a “win at all costs” kind of mentality. Don explained, “While that may have helped him succeed, the edges of that have been softened over the years with Katie (Heather Tom), with Brooke, (Katerhine Kelly Lang) with his children, but I think that’s still a driving force behind who he is,” while also adding, “He’s such a complicated character. A guy who, to his best efforts at times, can’t get out of his own way. The very things that have made him one of the most powerful people on the planet are also the very things that personally can be so destructive for him.”
