Sheila is trying to persuade Deacon not to give up. He was ready to do that or at least to try and go it alone.

There is some of the suspension of disbelief in play. Without needing to be real-world accurate, as this is B&B, it would make sense to think that Deacon would be involved in some form of post-release program.

Deacon has no probation officer. There was no halfway house where he was told to go or job prospects that he was directed toward. Sheila recognizes that he is down on his luck because she has been in similar situations and survived.

B&B Spoilers – Hope Spencer Cares About Her Father

Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) cares about his wife. But Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) will not be convinced that she should not care about her dad no matter what Liam says.

Hope’s connection with her father, while he was in prison, made all the difference in the world to him then and now. It proved that she was not maintaining ties due to guilt. A one-off letter or an occasional birthday card would have reflected that outlook.

No. Hope took the time to handwrite what accumulated to a stack of correspondence for the four years that Deacon was locked up after he attempted to shoot Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer). Then, when learning he was being released, Hope invited him to the cabin.
