It is suggested that her interrupting Thomas and Zoe isn’t because she is jealous or wants the obsessed villain for herself. She isn’t happy with how Thomas is handling his new relationship, especially where Douglas is concerned. Instead of taking things slow and getting his son adjusted to the idea of a new woman, he’s racing through the courtship.

He also isn’t taking Douglas’ fears and feelings into consideration, even after Hope’s firm talk with him. This is likely what the intimate interruption is all about — protecting Douglas. However, don’t count on Thomas viewing it that way.
