That way, she can keep the IV full of drugs that keep the young woman unconscious.

However, Penny won’t be able to keep that up forever. Shauna Fulton (Denise Richards) could ask too many questions or seek a specialist. Hospital staff could see something they shouldn’t. The devious doctor could move, have Flo transferred, or Penny could even die.

Any number of things could happen that could put an end to Flo’s coma and have her wake up. If and when that happens, both women will have a lot of explaining to do.
