The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) is happy that his youngest son has begun to discover his potential. He always believed that RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman) could follow in his and Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) footsteps.

Viewers know that bloodlines are not the reason why Ridge or RJ can design. They do not share genetics with Eric, who is Ridge’s adoptive father.

Massimo Marone (played by the late Joseph Mascolo) was Ridge’s father. Eric learned that shocking news years ago when Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) revealed Ridge was not his son.

History can always be adjusted in the soap world. But if or until that happens, Ridge is the father of the only child he and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) had.

Their son’s recent return to Los Angeles, California, was warmly welcomed. Everyone, including Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson), was glad to see the somewhat prodigal son back after years away from home.

RJ initially demurred when Ridge initiated conversations about joining the family business. Kudos to TPTB for creating a believable storyline that pairs Eric’s need for assistance with RJ’s desire to explore the talent his father knew was untapped, including Ridge saying that Hoffman’s character has more ability than any of the Forrester clan.

B&B Spoilers – Eric Forrester Asked For Help

Eric is a proud man. As RJ told Ridge, Eric is nowhere near ready to retire. The desire to create what Eric refers to as a legacy line is fueled by his need to reinforce what he represents to his family and the fashion world.

Ridge is blind to his dad’s pride, believing that he should recognize that the people he hired to run the company, starting with himself, are doing a great job.

It is possible that RJ can serve as a go-between, helping his dad to appreciate where Eric is coming from and aiding Eric to realize that Ridge’s concerns are not self-serving.

Carter Walton’s (Lawrence Saint-Victor) talk with Eric at the Forrester mansion centered on the pressure he is putting on the business by creating an unplanned rival fashion line.

Eric does not care about the public perception of in-fighting due to what could be called a stubborn perspective.

Both men spoke directly. They said their peace, shared martinis, and shook hands.

So, the father-son rivalry does not come from a petty or bitter place. Instead, both men are confident in their abilities and believe the other is not able to see beyond his nose.

As Eric continues to assert, settling matters on the runway will likely be productive. But drama and some twists are likely to come as well, which will be good soap on B&B.
