In a recent interview with Belgium-based news site HLN.BE, the actor said that he wanted to take a vacation for a few months, which meant being away from the soap for a short while. Kaye explained that he promised his wife Susan Haskell that they would take a “small world trip together” with their two daughters, McKenna and Marlowe.

Kaye wants to bring his family to places that he’s visited already, and they’ve all agreed to this plan. He revealed that his boss approved his request. His character will be written out for a few months next year or the year after.

B&B Spoilers – Replacing Ronn Moss As Ridge

When asked about taking over the role of Ridge from Ronn Moss, Kaye said that his wife offered insights on what he can do. Haskell, who is a One Life to Live alum, brought up the iconic role of James Bond into their conversation. She explained that everyone thought that secret agent 007 was over when Sean Connery gave up the role. But it didn’t. The character still attracts many people even if it was played by other actors like Roger Moore. The same applies to Ridge Forrester.

Spoilers hint that Ridge might have a new rival on The Bold and the Beautiful. Ridge and Jack Finnegan (Ted King) may butt heads if the latter disapproves of his son’s, John “Finn” Finnegan Tanner Novlan), relationship with Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).

Ridge approves of Finn to be Steffy’s husband. He’s been with Steffy all this time even after her betrayal with Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton). They’re planning to tie the knot but it seems like Jack doesn’t feel the same for Steffy. He may have some harsh words to say to her, which could leave Ridge furious. If this happens, Ridge may find a new rival in Jack, who’s set to arrive in town with Finn’s mom, Li (Naomi Matsuda) on August 2.
