The Bold and the Beautiful’s Liam (Scott Clifton) is not a prize, no matter how much Hope (Annika Noelle) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) have fought over him through the years. The way these women would toss him back and forth between them always begging him to pick one of them makes it seem like Liam Spencer is God’s gift to women, but every problem he finds himself in now is because he is the furthest thing from a gift.

Forget that Steffy and Hope are basically Liam’s sister wives and both of them even gave him daughters that are around the same age. Liam is where is now because he couldn’t trust Hope. Not only couldn’t he trust her, he thought a mannequin was her when he saw Thomas making out with that mannequin. Yes, Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) also thought the mannequin was Hope but he had an excuse. Something was physically off with his brain.

Some may argue that Liam can claim the same, but that’s now how this story is going. Basically, Liam’s only excuse was being a moron. Running to Steffy and sleeping with her five minutes later made Liam more than a fool — he became a next-level fool.

After watching Liam be that petty and foolish and then watching him be a hot mess basket case after running down Vinny (Joe LoCicero) and killing him made watching him pose for a mug shot and get fingerprinted all the more satisfying. Because if Liam never mistook a mannequin for Hope, Steffy wouldn’t have had to wonder who fathered her child, and Vinny never would have had paternity tests to switch. Plus, he wouldn’t be driving around talking about winning Hope back because he never would have lost her.

Plus, after years and years of watching Liam waffle between two women, doing stupid and hurtful and selfish things along the way, a mug shot is just what we needed to see. Liam is not a hero.

Liam is not righteous and Liam is certainly not the prize Hope and Steffy seem to think he is. Liam is nothing more than a fool who never gets it right and when he let Bill (Don Diamont) talk him into covering up Vinny’s death, he got it more wrong than ever.
