Coronation Street Comings & Goings: Is Nicola Coming Back?

Coronation Street spoilers indicate that fans might soon be seeing the return of a major character, despite the fact that some key players are leaving. In fact, it’s Kym Marsh who is teasing the return of a much-loved character while actress Catherine Tyldesley airs her final scenes.

Kym hinted that actress Nicola Thorpe might come back to Weatherfield as Nicola Rubinstein sooner rather than later. Nicola was involved in a dramatic showdown, which saw her getting shot by her own father.

Kym, who plays Michelle Connor on the highly-rated ITV series, told Britain’s OK! Magazine, “It was announced recently that Nicola Thorp is leaving the soap. I’m sure it’s not the last we’ve seen of her – she’s a great actress.”

Nicola Thorpe reached out to her fans several weeks ago to announce her departure from Coronation Street. The actress said that while she will definitely miss Weatherfield along with all of the show’s cast and crew, she does want to pursue other opportunities, both on television and in films.

She said, “To be involved in Phelan’s demise has been an absolute treat, and I hope you’ve all been enjoying it as much as I have enjoyed filming it. I’ve got wonderful friends, a family that I’ve made here, and I’ll be really, really sad to say goodbye for now. Thanks for having me, and keep on watching. You’ve been the most incredible fans that anyone can ever ask for, so thank you.”
