Coronation Street Maximus Evans Teases Corey Brent’s Possibility To Kill Again

Last Monday night (October 18), the most awaited Super Soap Week began airing on ITV. In the scene of Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) and Abi Franklin (Sally Carman), which saw the sorrowful mom threaten the villain with a gun pointed at him.

Amidst their madness, the two ended up being trapped in the sewer as the ground broke into the unfixed sinkhole.

In his latest interview, Maximus Evans shared his experiences and preparations while filming Super Soap Week, as well as Corey’s capability of ending someone’s life again. “Corey is willing to do anything. If the opportunity is there and he knows it could work in his favor, without a doubt it could happen. Never say never,” Evans answered.

When ask about his thoughts regarding his on-screen character being found not guilty over Seb Franklin’s murder, as documented by Digital Spy, Evans answered the writers did a great job in making the storyline.

The plot adds development to his character and to Kelly Neelan, played by Millie Gibson. Viewers will sympathize more with Kelly while being annoyed at Corey Brent’s role.

Maximus Evans also shared that he didn’t visit social media to look for the viewer’s reactions regarding his role in the soap. He was definite that people were upset about Corey and it’s the right reaction since he plays the villain of the show.

When he was told that would be part of the big stunt week, Maximus Evans was thrilled with the idea, especially when he got to work with Sally Carman as vengeful Abi Franklin and thoughtful David Nielson as uncle Roy in most of the scenes, which was his favorite part of Super Soap Week.

He shared the long nights of the shoot and how the cast and crew worked hard to come up with the great output. “Everybody gives 110% and we absolutely smashed through it and in the end got the best result. I was super excited and I can’t wait for people to see it,” Evans said.

Maximus expressed his gratitude for being part of a beautiful soap like Corrie. The people are warm and friendly even if they act opposite when the camera is rolling.

When asked about his preparation for the shoot, especially at the intense scenes as the villain, Maximus Evans stated that he’s just staying relaxed and being involved in the process. He makes sure that before a take, he is already in character.

He shared how amazed he was with the writers of the soap. He didn’t expect that Super Soap Week would be as great as that, especially how harsh the stunts could be.

“I never expected it to be as harsh as it was. It is a very harsh environment and it was cold. It was a long week of being cold but it was the best week I’ve done since I’ve been here. It was amazing,” he teased.

Evans also shared that the members of his family are great fans of the show. He often watches the soap with them, especially in big episodes.

When asked to give three words to describe the stunt drama, the iconic villain answered, “Unexpected, shocking, and brutal.”
