Coronation Street Spoilers – Paddy Bever Weighs In On Max Turner’s New Storyline

Paddy Bever addressed Max’s new storyline during his recent appearance on the British Soap Award last night. The young actor, who plays the 15-year-old character, said that Max would be left feeling secretly ashamed after he realizes that a stranger got hold of his naked photos. Aside from shame, Max will struggle with toxic masculinity.

“I think it was very important to me to be very focused and to get it very right because this genuinely affects so many people,” the actor said.

“I even know tens of people this has happened to at a very young age, and it really does happen. What could make someone more vulnerable than a photo of that? I don’t know. I think it’s a turning point, I really do,” the actor continued.

Bever considers what happened to his alter ego an epidemic in real life. He shared that he knew some students at his school who had to go through the same thing. He revealed that in his research, he managed to talk to young kids who struggled with the problem, and it pushed him to explore his character’s personality.

When asked if Max will confide in David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) about it, he said that his character is still unable to decide on that point. He trusts David, but he’ll feel so much shame that would make it difficult for him to open up.
