Coronation Street Spoilers – Will Joel Deering Be Caught?

This week it was revealed Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) wasn’t as dead as Joel Deering (Calum Lill) thought she was when he thought he’d killed her in a violent rage.

When Lauren visited Roy Cropper (David Neilson) in his hospital room, it was the flesh and blood Lauren, not her ghost after all. Now Joel’s mission is to find Lauren and keep her quiet before anyone else does.

Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) and Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) are surprised when a nurse confirms that Roy Cropper’s hospital visitor was a young girl with blonde hair. Dee-Dee informs Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) and Joel that the police are checking the CCTV to see if it was Lauren.

Roy is happy that Lauren seems to be alive, but Nina is angry that the teen took so long to clear Roy’s name, and that Lauren has now disappeared again.

She doesn’t know that Lauren has been forced to flee from evil Joel again! Realizing that Dee-Dee, his girlfriend, has gotten the police involved in searching for Lauren of course makes Joel very nervous.

Bethany tells her mom Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien), about seeing Lauren and noticing her coat matches the one worn by a girl in the CCTV footage from the pizza place. This leads Bethany to believe that Lauren used her credit card.

Deering Hunts Her Down

Joel informs Dee-Dee enthusiastically that he has scheduled their wedding for September; afterwards, he leaves to review credit card statements with Bethany in hopes of locating Lauren.

Joel receives a message from Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) requesting additional funds, and he fibs to Dee-Dee that he needs to go to work. Dee-Dee receives a tip about a soup kitchen in Warrington, where a homeless woman verifies that Lauren is staying in a nearby pub.

Dee-Dee informs Joel before leaving with Bethany, but will Joel reach Lauren before her?

Afterwards, Lauren goes to the café to say sorry to Roy before going to the Rovers, where Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) kindly offers her a place to sleep.

Cropper, But What’s Become Of Joel?

Carla Connor (Alison King) encounters the gang that harassed Roy and confronts them. She then drives away, but one of the troublemakers rides a bike towards her. Carla opens her car door, causing him to fall to the ground.

Nina picks up Roy from the hospital, where he expresses his anxiety about leaving. Nina proposes that Roy stays at Cathy Matthews’s (Melanie Hill) house in Scarborough for a few days. Carla is angry, but what happened to Joel remains unknown.
