As for Brian, he has planned everything for his move to Cornwall. Of course, his plans include Cathy. But Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) notices that Cathy isn’t as excited as Brian. So she tells the latter to step it up. As a result, Brian decides to take their relationship up a notch and asks Cathy to marry him.

Cathy mulls over Brian’s wedding proposal. Evelyn gives Cathy a piece of her mind and encourages her to come clean to Brian about the doubts that she’s been having about their relationship. But instead of telling the truth, Cathy decided to accept Brian’s proposal.

Cathy’s decision makes Brian very happy and even more excited about their future. He puts an offer on him forever home in Cornwall. But will Cathy really tie the knot with him? It’s been revealed that the actress behind the character, Melanie Hill, is scheduled to leave the show for good. If that’s the case, Brian may get his heart broken.

Coronation Street has confirmed the exit of Melanie Hill. She’s been with the show since 2015, and after seven years, she’s finally moving on.

In an interview with The Mirror, Hill shared that she loves the show very much, but the pandemic has made her realize many things. The damage, pain, and death caused by COVID 19 have made her rethink her priorities in life.

When asked about her alter ego’s coming departure, the actress teased, “I won’t say where Cathy goes but I’m a stone’s throw away.”
