Coronation Street Spoilers: David Platt Is Worried About His Health Following Assault

Coronation Street spoilers indicate that David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) is now fearing for his health and even his health following his sexual assault. The young lad was harassed, assaulted and raped by newcomer Josh Tucker (Ryan Clayton) during a night out that went horrifically wrong. Josh took advantage of the young man after spiking his drink.

In a harrowing storyline, David is now worried that he might have contracted HIV. The father-of-two can be seen looking worried while reading an HIV poster. He wants to get tested following his attack but has a panic attack himself once he is asked about his sexual history.

After the ordeal, David came home, showered, and threw away all of his clothes. He also became violently ill when he realized what had happened the new day. To make matters worse, he couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw Josh talking to his mother Gail (Helen Worth). David is still trying to come to terms with what happened but refuses to tell anyone his story. He is yet to tell his friends and family about the attack. What’s more, he also hasn’t told his girlfriend Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) about what happened, even though she points out that they haven’t been intimate in a very long time.

The Manchester Evening News has pointed out that the National helpline Male Survivor in Britain has had a 1000 percent increase in calls ever since the David Platt rape episode.
