Fans saw Bernie expose Evelyn Plummer’s (Maureen Lipman) scam. She hatched an idea that proved the latter was faking her injury following her fall. Everything went according to plan and Bernie asked Dev to take her out for a drink as a reward.

Later on, Bernie overheard Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) teasing his dad over his non-existent love life. Bernie immediately pretended that she dropped by to go on a date with the shop owner. The pair went out on their fake date and things escalated quickly when Dev invited Bernie back to No.7.

Bernie and Dev tried to be discreet about spending the night together. However, Aadi was left shocked when he walked in on Bernie making breakfast for his dad. Dev tried to come up with an excuse but his son isn’t buying any of it.

Aadi opened up to his twin sister Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) about what their father has done, not realizing that Mary was there and overheard their conversation. The twins eventually told their nanny that Bernie and Dev spent the night together but Mary wanted to know if their father admitted to it.

Asha explained how Aadi walked in on Bernie and Dev. Aadi also said that they’ve been winding them up about going out and if it was only a joke, they surely took it too far.

Will Mary’s Discovery of Bernie and Dev’s Night of Passion Cause Her to Leave the Cobbles?

Mary has been trying to keep her feelings for Dev to herself and hearing this would cause her so much hurt. She’s been taking care of the twins for so long and Bernie’s romantic relationship with Dev could mean that she’ll be taking on her mothering role.

Mary fears that she’ll be replaced and begins to spread rumors about Dev and Bernie being together. Bernie and Mary eventually butt heads and the latter accuses her of taking advantage of Dev. She also warns Bernie to stay away from him. Will this be enough reason for Mary to exit the cobbles?
