Coronation Street Spoilers: Jenny and Stephen to Face Lasting Consequences Over their Kiss

Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) and Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) are going to face consequences because of their recent kiss.

Coronation Street producer Iain MacLeod promises that their action will have “long-lasting consequences” not only for the two but also for the whole show.

Jenny Has a Secret to Keep

Last week, Jenny fell into Stephen’s temptation while they were alone in the back room. She kissed him back, thinking that she and Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost) were over.

But Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) walked in on them, interrupting their passionate kiss. Leo was right behind Gemma, but thankfully, Gemma was able to usher him back to the bar before he saw Jenny and Stephen.

Jenny was quick to tell Gemma that the kiss meant nothing. Back in the bar, Leo asked Jenny to marry him, which she gladly accepted. Jenny later confesses to Gemma that she feels guilty, so she wants to tell Leo what happened. But Gemma encouraged her to keep it a secret.

“Well, obviously, secrets never stay buried in soap for very long, do they? Or sometimes they do stay buried for quite a while, but they always come out in the end. So inevitably this secret will come out too,” Iain MacLeod tells Digital Spy.

Jenny Has Made a Huge Mistake

MacLeod teases that Jenny has made a huge mistake with Stephen, which is going to ruin her happy-ever-after with Leo.

“Jenny thinks she’s found her happy ever after with Leo. Obviously, in the wake of Johnny’s death, she did probably rush into this relationship a bit quickly and then spent a long time torturing herself over the idea that: ‘He’s too young for me, I’m too old for him, is he dating me because he’s got some fetish for slightly older women?’ Eventually, none of that proved to be the case. Leo is entirely genuine and Jenny could have her happy ever after with him. But unfortunately, she’s made this mistake.”

Of all the people, “she couldn’t really have picked a worst person.”

Stephen is a scheming villain who became so interested in her after learning that she owns the pub. Now that Jenny is engaged to Leo, he has something to use against them to carry out his dark money schemes.

Fans know what Stephen is up to, and they suspect that he’s going to blackmail Jenny now. They also think that Stephen’s debt is so huge that he would be so willing to kill Audrey just to get her money.
