Coronation Street fans heard the sad news that the actor who plays Norris, Malcolm Hebden retired. In real life, he suffered a heart attack. Despite loving working on the Corrie set, he had to give it up. Nevertheless, fans saw him return for a few cameos, but it looks like that is over now as Norris died. Ken and Rita take the news badly in an upcoming episode on ITV. The news came from The Sun UK on September 7.

The outlet noted that fans of the ITV show last saw Micheal Hebden back in June last year. Additionally, the outlet reminded fans, Norris “formed a close bond with Rita …and Emily Bishop (Eileen Derbyshire), but also tied the knot with Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) in 2017.” However, that only lasted a year and Norris filed for divorce so he could marry Emily’s niece Freda Burgess (Ali Briggs). The couple lived at Stillwaters ever since then.

In the upcoming episode of Coronation Street, Freda contacts Rita and says that Norris went to the hospital. The old man had a bad fall, and doctors feared for his life. In fact, they suspect that he fell after experiencing a stroke. Anyway, they seem very worried about their friend, so ff they go to the hospital. However, it seems they are too late. Poor old Norris passed away before they could say goodbye.
