Coronation Street Spoilers: Kym Marsh Teases Return

“Coronation Street” actress Kym Marsh who left the soap in 2019 after portraying Michelle Connor for 13 long years has teased her comeback to Corrie’s set.

Kym Marsh was last seen on the cobbles in December 2019 when her character Michelle went on a fresh start after a series of unfortunate events: her ex-fiancé Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) passed away after being shot on Christmas Day and the villainous character Ray Crosby bought her beloved Bistro.

But it seems like the character has had her much-needed time with her family as her portrayer Kym Marsh is ready to set foot on the cobbles again as she revealed in her interview with the Mirror. When asked about the possibility of reprising her role in the future, the actress answered: “Yeah, possibly… I love Coronation Street, it’s where I started and it gave me the biggest part of my career.”

The 45-year-old star went on reminiscing her wonderful times and friends on the set, pointing out she loved her character. “So I have no doubt I’ll go back at some point – as long as they don’t kill me off off-screen!” she added.

Ever since her exit, Kym has always been vocal it was only temporary, assuring her fans they’ll see her on Corrie again as long as she won’t be written out in the story.

She also disclosed the real reason for leaving in her interview with HELLO! In 2019. Kim explained she wanted to try new things “outside the soap” after being in “Hear’Say”, had a solo career, and been into musical theatre before settling with Corrie.

“In my head it was just a case of wanting to go and try other stuff. I haven’t experienced an awful lot of stuff outside of the show so I just thought it would be quite nice to tick those boxes and have that little bit more experience,” she revealed.

Corrie bosses didn’t disagree with her decision either, saying that they see it as a break rather than saying goodbye. Although Kym kept the door open for Corrie, she disclosed there were no set plans with a set date for her comeback. Currently, Kym hosts Morning Live on BBC One and makes a perfect duo with co-host Gethin Jones. But has the perfect time to reprise Michelle come?
